That curve is made of assumptions. Your actual dividends aren't. OMM tracks every payout by ex-date, grades each holding's safety, and puts your options premium in the same ledger, one income number you don't have to project. Start free. No card, no brokerage login.

How it works

How to read this

Set a yield, a growth rate, and a horizon, and the calculator compounds them forward a year at a time. Dividends land. Raises stack. With DRIP on, every payout buys shares that pay their own dividends, and the curve stops being polite. The column worth staring at is yield on cost: buy a grower at a 3% yield, sit through a decade of raises, and you can be collecting 6 or 7% on the money you actually put in, while the quote page still shows 3% to everybody who just arrived.

The math is honest. The inputs are guesses. Companies cut. Prices lurch. A smooth 6% a year hides some ugly years inside it, so run a conservative case before you trust the rosy one. There’s a blind spot too: if you sell covered calls on the same shares, the premium never shows up in a dividend calculator. OMM tracks both streams on your real positions: every dividend by ex-date, your options premium beside it, one combined income number. Project here. Then go measure what your book actually pays.

Common questions

Frequently asked

Is this dividend calculator financial advice?
No. It's arithmetic on assumptions you typed in. It doesn't know your tax situation or your timeline, and it has no opinion on what you should buy. Neither does OMM. We're a tracking and coaching app, not a broker or an advisor: we show you what your money is doing, and what you do about it is your call.
What is yield on cost, and why does it matter?
Yield on cost is your annual dividend income divided by what you paid for your shares, not what they trade at today. It's the payoff meter for holding dividend growers. A stock bought at a 3% yield that raises its payout 8% a year is paying you about 6.5% on your original money after ten years. The quote page still says 3%, because new buyers pay today's price. When a holding's yield on cost pulls away from its headline yield, that's the raise you got for staying put.
How does reinvesting dividends (DRIP) change the projection?
DRIP buys more shares with every payout instead of paying you cash, and the new shares pay dividends of their own. In year one it barely registers. By year twenty it can be the difference between a line and a hockey stick. Run it both ways: off shows the income you could spend along the way, on shows what the position becomes if you leave it alone. The distance between those two runs is the real argument for reinvesting.
Are these projected numbers guaranteed?
No. They're compound interest applied to your own assumptions, nothing more. Real dividends get cut. Ask anyone who held GE or AT&T for the income. And real prices refuse to move in the straight line a projection draws. Use this to compare scenarios and pressure-test a plan, not to book the number. If the plan only works with generous inputs, you just learned something worth knowing.
What dividend growth rate should I assume?
Start with the company's own record: its dividend growth over the past five years is the least imaginary number available, and typing a ticker above will prefill it for you. Then haircut it: streaks end, and payout ratios have ceilings. High yielders tend to raise slowly; the fast raisers usually start from a low yield. Whatever you choose, run it twice, once at your honest guess and once a few points lower. A plan that survives the lower number is a plan.
Can OMM track my real dividends, not just project them?
Yes. Tracking the real thing is the product. OMM logs every dividend you're paid by ex-date, shows what's coming on the calendar, and puts a safety grade on each holding so a stretched payout doesn't ambush you. If you also sell covered calls or cash-secured puts, that premium lands in the same ledger as your dividends: one combined income number, plus the honest total return on your whole book. Free covers your first 10 holdings and 5 options positions. No card, no brokerage login.

Each tool shows one income stream. OMM is the only place you see both dividends and options income in one honest return.
